Skatekeet

I’m spending this weekend at one of my best skaterhomies in the Netherlands. Keet. She’s 11 years old. To some it seems strange but for me it’s the most normal thing in the world.

We have something in common that goes deeper than just doing the same sport. The both of us have fallen in love with skateboarding. As soon as we step on our skateboard everything disappears, our age, the color of our skin, everything. We get the same mind set and share our passion for skateboarding. As soon as we go home and she curls up on her mom’s lap or when we go to a restaurant and the waiter wants to give her kids menu, that’s when I remember that she’s more than half my age, and to me, it doesn’t matter.
